Pastels styles for the Home

Spring Pastels

With spring comes fresh blossom, and warmer weather so why not indulge yourself with this powdery, soft hued pastel trend. This is the time to adorn your home with pretty pastels and put that spring in your step. Pastels are a great antidote to the winter blues and it's a good time to give your home a refresh. This trend is all about colour, so go all out with your colour combinations, colour blocking, but do keep the hues on the delicate side.  Think duck egg blue, soft lavenders, or pale greens that give a sense of calm and lemon yellows to bring in the sunshine. Don't forget to don your rose tinted glasses and think pink.

Pastels arn't just for the nursery they are perfect for a minimalist to a maximalist look. Why not add a few small accessories to a neutral living space from pretty candles, vases or cushions as these can easily be changed. Freshen your bedroom with mint green cushions or a lilac bedspread. If your already committed to colour, let your imagination run wild and add a statement sofa in soft peach or go all out in the bathroom with pale blue tiles and sage green accents.

Modern Pastels

Modern pastels combine bright and soothing colours and modern designs to create a stylish and calming atmosphere. Soft pastel shades like pink, lavender, mint, and pale blue take centre stage, while white and neutral accents add to the look. Minimalist furniture like streamlined sofas and geometric art bring the room together, and a combination of lightweight fabrics, natural woods, and hard surfaces like marble and glass complete the modern feel.

Painterly Pastels

Painterly Pastels create a warm and cheerful atmosphere with a brighter pastel colour palette. Primary pastel shades such as blue, green, yellow, and pink are combined with whites, creams, and blacks, for a look that is whimsical and unique. Exquisite antiques, boldly patterned prints, vintage heirlooms, and fine art pieces bring personality to the space, and luxurious fabrics, velvet, velveteen, and waxed wood give the room the perfect finishing touch.

Express yourself with dreamy watercolour prints and ice cream shades.  Think Monet's works of art, pretty blousy florals or blended ombre designs and marbled patterns. Strike a balance between busy patterns by keeping other items plain and simple utilising the colours from the patterned items to tie in the other elements in the room and using a plain colour or white as a background.
